Two-component epoxy adhesive with metal filler for reliably bonding and filling various metals and other materials, filling misaligned holes, damaged edges, cracks, etc. Easy to sand and repaint. Withstands temperatures up to +120 °C.
Characteristics
Removing excess uncured adhesive: Cloth or paper tissue moistened with alcohol.
Adhesive thinner: Thinner for epoxy coatings S6300 (the use of thinners increases the curing time and reduces the final strength of the bond – if you need a “thinner” epoxy adhesive, use the epoxy adhesive for laminating or finishing with a lower viscosity).
It will serve as a filler, suitable fillers: Microballoon filler, talc, baby powder, diatomaceous earth, fine balsa or linden sawdust, chopped fiberglass. Caution – adding a filler can reduce the working time by up to 25% and (depending on the type and amount of filler used) decrease the strength of the bond.
Suitable for gluing: of soft and hard wood, chipboard, plywood, metal, expanded polystyrene, ceramics, porcelain, glass and carbon laminates, glass and carbon fabrics and fibers.
Unsuitable for gluing: of soft and flexible plastics (including EPP and EPO), polyethylene, Teflon.
Storage: Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry, and dark place (between 10°C and 25°C). Do not expose the adhesive to temperatures below 10°C. Take care not to confuse the resin and hardener caps – even a small amount of hardener can decompose a large amount of resin.
Life: Provided the storage conditions are met, we guarantee the shelf life in the unopened original packaging for a period of one year, maintaining the product properties mentioned above. Practical experience shows that epoxy resins based on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin retain their perfect properties for many years when stored appropriately (see also note 2). If you purchase a suitable pack of adhesive for your needs, you practically don't need to worry about its shelf life at all.
Note 1: The curing time of the adhesive depends primarily on the ambient temperature. If you mix a large quantity of epoxy adhesive at once (usually more than 20 to 30 g), it can cure much faster. To maintain a longer working time, the adhesive must be cooled, for example, in a water bath. This is because heat is released during the reaction of the resin and hardener, and the resin cures faster at higher temperatures. Furthermore, because the weight of the resin (and therefore the amount of heat generated) increases more rapidly with increasing volume than the size of the surface area from which the heat is dissipated to the environment, a larger quantity of resin heats up more quickly and cures faster. A cube with a side length of 1 cm has a volume of 1 cm³ and a surface area of 6 cm² – a ratio of 6:1, while a cube with a side length of 2 cm has a volume of 8 cm³ and a surface area of 24 cm². a ratio of only 3:1.
Note 2: Originally clear and fairly fluid epoxy resins based on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin can sometimes thicken (saccharify like honey) and lose their transparency – this is due to low temperatures, humidity, or time. By carefully heating them in hot water (60–70 °C) for a few minutes until the resin becomes clear throughout its volume, you can restore the resin to its original, "like new" state.
